As many of you already know, designers are getting together to raise money to help Haiti. Well known designer Ysolda Teague has already donated 6000$USD since the beginning of the fundraising.
I am proud to take part in this event too and for each Rhombi Kimono pattern sold, 50% of the sale price will go the Canadian Red Cross for their work in Haiti. If you are not interested bu the pattern itself, visit Ravelry and search for the “Help-for-Haiti” tag to find hundreds of patterns available for this fundraising. You’re not into knitting? All international aid organizations are taking donations online or by telephone. Here are a few canadian ones:

Avis à toutes et à tous! Le patron Riverbanks est maintenant disponible en français! J’en profite donc pour vous montrer le nouveau site revampé de Tricot Québec. La mise à jour du site m’a pris beaucoup de temps dernièrement alors j’ai moins eu le temps de venir bloguer ici, mais je reviendrai!

Take a look at the new and improved Tricot Quebec website. I didn’t have a lot of time to update the blog lately, partly because of the creation of Tricot Quebec, but I will be back soon!

Biscotte contacted me a few months ago to create a pattern for her Sock Club (Fall 2009). She had an idea to use a chart of hers picturing a Gecko. The pattern came out yesterday October 1st and now I can share them with you. So here are the Gecko Mittens!

These mittens are knitted fingers up with an afterthought thumb and uses about 100gr of Biscotte’s Bella (75gr in solid color and 25gr in self-striping). The pattern is only available to the Club members for now, but it will be available for sale in Spring 2010.

Before the end of October I should publish the Tangerine pattern so stay tuned!

I’ve been talking a lot about a new pattern in september, remember? Here it is! The Knitty Fall 2009 is finally up and I can show you the pattern I’ve been working on since a few months.

I originaly knitted the pattern in Bouton d’Or Dandy, a gift from my french friend Sopatch and submitted it to Knitty, but because the yarn was discontinued, the editor suggested that I reknit it in Vintage Noro. Which I accepted, of course!

This hood is great for cool weather, perfect for when you don’t want to wear a hat but still want to cover your head in some way. It’s a really quick knit too.

Pattern: Riverbanks
Materials: 3 skeins of Noro Vintage
Needles:  One circular and one set of straight needles #10 (6mm)
Size: One size
Ravel it: Riverbanks or see it on Knitty

Do you like tangerines?

Here is my latest creation: Tangerine!

It’s blocking right now in the basement so forgive me for the bad lighting. Pattern will soon be available on this blog and on Ravelry with a better picture of course.  Tangerine is a kimono, size new born / 3 mos. 6mos to 18mos will also be available in a shorter version, the new born version is meant to be long to cover baby’s legs. It calls for 2 skeins of  Biscotte & cie’s Bambousse. The sample was made using the color “Sorbet”.

Marlene is the new released pattern of my friend Birana A beautiful pair of socks created for the September project of Biscotte’s sock club. I had the chance to test knit the pattern for Birana and here is what this beautiful sock looks like:

Really nice no? The original project calls for beads but I didn’t use beads because I’m a slacker and I didn’t go out to buy some (!) But they look great anyway, don’t you think? Anyway the pattern is only available for the club members for now but Birana will make it available in February 2010. Here is the Ravelry link  for those interested.

Yesterday I received a package of 6 skeins of Mission falls Merino I ordered from Ram Wool in order to knit Mimico from Twist Collective fall 2009. The yarn is beautiful and so is the pattern. If I didn’t have a pattern to work on myself I would dive right in but I try to be practical and logical and finish the sample I’m working on first.

Soon I will have a new pattern to show you… in just a week or two!

I had a nice photoshoot of two pieces yesterday. Sadly I can’t show you any of them for now… in a few weeks you will see both of them. You want a preview?

mini & mini2

Nice no?

See you soon!

Yes, it is growing! Biscotte’s Bambousse is really a fun yarn to knit with and little Tangerine is beginning to look like a piece of clothing instead of a swatch!

Ok it is just a scanned picture and no it’s not finished neither blocked so it won’t look exactly like that once it’s done but it’s gonna be cute! I also ordered some Biscotte’s Soyeuse in Epave colorway, can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Two swatches are gone in the mail today. Byebye! I hope you’ll find someone who likes you enough to see you as a FO in a few months ;) Maybe someday you blog readers will see some pictures but not for now.

I’m also waiting for a little package of Noro Vintage for a secret project, let’s just hope I’ll get it pretty soon because I can’t wait to try this yarn :)

Before I go, did you know this little website? Moving mud ? They sell really cool buttons that you can customize depending on your fiber or fabric!

See you soon!

No garment knitting for me this week: I’ve been swatching! Look at this:
Une semaine d’échantillonage cette semaine. Regardez moi ça:

Joli non? Pretty no?

One swatch is blocking but I can’t show it to you…
I’m also working on this Je travaille aussi là-dessus:

The middle of the stitch pattern is a little messy but this is only the first prototype swatch.  In case you’re wondering the yarn is Biscotte & Cie’s Bambousse, go visit her website!
